With an extensive background in gospel and a lifelong passion for soul music, Betty Fox has burst onto the Florida music scene in a whirlwind of controlled yet unabashed passion and has taken the hearts of anyone wise enough to lend her their ear. At age 27, this fiery songstress has her own musical project with quite a few heart wrenching, lyrically driven and musically sound original tracks that beg the question “What kind of life must this old soul have lived?” To support her talent, she has carefully selected musical heavyweights Josh Nelms on guitar, Matt Walker on bass, and Sam Farmer on drums to set herself up for nothing less than well deserved success.

Harper & Midwest Kind CD Release Party

February 22, 2020 8:00 pm 701 Main Street, Daytona Beach, Florida

Award winning Australian singer/ songwriter/ virtuoso harmonica player “Peter D. Harper”, now based in Detroit, USA creates a heady mix of roots music through his creative use of the harp, and the haunting drone of the didgeridoo. Harper possesses a powerful, soulful voice and a deep, almost mystical approach to music that some might say has evolved into its own genre. A rich musical stew of ‘50s rhythm and blues, a ‘60s message of love and unity, and ‘70s funky soul, stirred up with masterful harmonica and the deep, woody, percussive tones of the didgeridoo, served up in a feast of timeless mystery. Harper has received an amazing 14 x  Blues/Roots Music awards (including a Gold Record) in the USA, United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.  He recently won a Detroit Music Award for “Outstanding Vocalist”.

Harper is backed by his talented American Midwest based Touring band “Midwest Kind” which features: Austin Johnson on guitar, Lee Lewis on Bass Guitar, Reggie Wilson on Drums and Bobbi Llewellyn on backing vocals/ percussion.  Harper’s new CD  “Rise Up” (Access Records) featuring 10 original tracks will be released world wide February 11th, 2020.

Nick Schnebelen

February 1, 2020 8:00 pm 701 Main Street, Daytona Beach, Florida

One of the first things you discover about Nick Schnebelen is his commitment to his music. He does not tippy-toe or wade in; he plunges right into the deep end.  Forceful and determined succinctly describe Nick’s approach to guitar-playing and singing.

That’s always been the basis for Nick’s music, no matter what kind of musical collaboration he’s been in.

Nick came to widespread attention as a member of Trampled Under Foot, the Kansas City family band that was founded in 2004 won the 2008 International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Nick was also singled out for the “Albert King Award” as the best guitarist in the competition.

Joined by younger brother Kris and sister Danielle, TUF enjoyed two highly successful albums produced by Tony Braunagel, “Wrong Side of the Blues” (2011) and “Badlands” (2013), which climbed to the top position on Billboard’s Top Blues Album charts.  The band was nominated in 2012 as Band of the Year at the Blues Music Awards and won that honor in 2014.

Most people think that’s how Nick got started, but his musical roots run far deeper. His mother and father were professional musicians, his grandmother was a big band singer, his grandfather played guitar and his great grandfather was a member of a string band as far back as the 1920s.

Ghost Town Blues Band

January 4, 2020 8:00 pm 701 Main Street, Daytona Beach, Florida

Ghost Town Blues Band returns to The Bank on January 4th!!

Horns, harmonies and homegrown instruments combined with an energetic and roots rich set makes Ghost Town Blues Band one of the “must see live bands on the festival circuit today.” Both Preston McEwen behind the drums and Matt Karner on the bass guitar are a punishing rhythm section behind multi-instrumentalist/frontman Matt Isbell with raunchy cigar box guitar licks and raspy “Dr. John-like, whiskey and gravel-soaked vocals.” With the addition of Trombonist Suavo Jones, Tim Stanek on B3 and Taylor Orr on lead guitar, the grooves go from funky to “funk-nasty” as the band gains more notoriety in the blues festival and jam circuit.

This one is gonna be a blast!

Eric Tessmer with special guest Shaw Davis and The Black Ties

January 25, 2020 8:00 pm 701 Main Street, Daytona Beach, Florida

A Wisconsin native, Eric Tessmer developed his love affair with music through a kind of familial osmosis. Both his grandmother and father played guitar, and Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Cream were all staples around the house growing up. Inspired in part by watching reruns of Austin City Limits on his local PBS station, Tessmer moved to Texas straight out of high school, and he quickly garnered a formidable reputation there for his fierce fretwork and explosive live performances. He cut his teeth playing residencies in clubs and bars, shared stages with everyone from Gary Clark, Jr. to Tab Benoit, and released a series of live and studio albums that earned widespread critical acclaim, with the Austin Chronicle dubbing him an “SRV-fast firebrand” and the Austin American Statesman hailing him as a “working class guitar hero.”

Gypsy Elise & The Royal Blues

December 7, 2019 8:00 pm 701 Main Street, Daytona Beach, Florida

Gypsy Elise is the rarest form of vocalist; a beautiful female contralto.  With her 3.5 octaves, and silken, throaty lower range, occasionally Milady Gypsy is mistaken for a male singer. Nothing is further from the truth!  Gypsy Elise is a force of nature, a super-charged rose to be reckoned with!

Refining her vocals and assuming her position as troubadour, Gypsy Elise, with the aid of her Royal Blues, vividly captures the mysterious chambers of human emotion when reciting a torch or blues ballad. Together their sound recalls Gypsy’s transient kindred with a whimsical bohemian, yet mesmerizing sensual mash-up of blues, R&B, jazz, rock, and funk.
