Mike Quick Band returns to The Bank & Blues with guest Buddy Blues. Singer-guitarist Mike Quick says his band’s latest album, “Evolution,” is “a syfy, psychedelic, funk jam.” Band keyboardist Bill Bairley says “Evolution” is “all-new music, new directions, new sonic adventures. Not another tired disc of half-baked, three-chord blues tunes posing as ‘originals.’ ” The album even features tabla, a drum from India. As for the “syfy, psychedelic” element, check out the track “Farmers and Aliens.”
Singer-guitarist Buddy Blues was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and discovered the electric guitar and the blues “after an accidental encounter” with a neighbor. He began performing around Beirut at age 16 and eventually emigrated to Orlando.
